Hello hello,
I am designing a comic book on
election fraud, have been consulting
with Judy Alter, and she pointed me to your site. It's absolutely fabulous.
Clear, well-written, just fantastic. Thank God for your effort,
and I'd like to stay in touch, so I can avail myself of your knowledge AND
make sure that people are pointed to your site as a GREAT resource.
BTW - I don't know your name!!!!
My deepest thanks.
Onward,

Excellent Website!! I’ve been
following this issue for quite some time and read Mark Crispin Miller’s book
and found it very enlightening and potentially disturbing if there aren’t
legitimate changes in how we count votes. I have since written a poem that
highlights the problems and challenges to our democracy around this
fundamental right. You are welcome to publish it on your website if you
choose to. I am not looking for compensation, but only exposure to add my
take on this extremely important issue. Thank you for your website and
attempts to educate the public about the corporate usurpation of our
democracy through voting machines.

Diebold or NOT Diebold

Diebold or NOT Diebold
That is the election...
Whether tis nobler to use
Butterfly ballots or
A black box machine,
The outcome of an inside job
Makes a dirty election clean.
Like little Miss Harris
Who can’t be embarrassed
Unless it is a bad make-up job,
When along came an insider,
Called the Supreme Court decider
That delivered Florida to the Bush mob.
Or little Boy Blackwell
Whose state he would stack well
With big Buckeye bucks for the GOP,
And this GOPfather,
Where ethics can’t be bothered
Subverts the people’s will
To be free.
So whether you’re in Florida
Ohio or some other state,
And a black box arrives
To decide your fate,
Ask for open source software,
Before it’s too late.
Because hackers and hi-jackers
Have proven in the past,
That pointing to a voting screen,
No guarantee your vote’s been cast,
And the overseers subvert the will
Democracy CAN NOT last.

I recommend the Web site.
She's got one of the best and most readable sites around right now on the
history of the problem, the players, and more.
Black Box Voting has the most kick-ass research in America, but we are
definitely the "advanced curriculum." For those getting to know the issue, I
definitely recommend the
whoscounting.net
site. I know how much work this is. She's done a phenomenal job with very
accurate, sourced material.

Thank you for taking the time to contact me with your concerns pertaining to
electronic voting in the state of Ohio. It is important to me to hear from
my constituents on matters such as this.
I would also like to take the time to thank you for supplying a wealth of
information on this subject within your email. In your letter, you have done
an excellent job in outlining a fair and tamper safe method for implementing
electronic voting. Additionally, the information you have provided on these
companies prior donation records proves to be very troubling. Moreover, the
past hiring practices of these companies raise further questions about this
procedure.
Again, I thank you for providing me with this plethora of information on
electronic voting. I will certainly keep this information in mind, and
utilize your very thorough and comprehensive website should this issue be
addressed in the General Assembly. If you have any further questions,
comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. It has been my
pleasure to serve you in the 28th District of The State of Ohio.
Sincerely,
Kimberly A. Zurz

Great website. You've got lots
of excellent info.
You should include a section on the optical scanner memory card
vulnerabilities, and the Harri Hursti report which demonstrated 3 ways to
hack optical scanner systems (and alter both the scanner and tabulator
totals so that they'd agree).
As for What To Do there are quite a few additional options on the BBV
website that could be added to your list (e.g., specific actions to be taken
in relation to any voter's local election office; FOIA requests; how to
audit an election; and ways that local and state election laws can be used
as a tool for election reform because often municipalities and states aren't
following their own rules, and how to use the HAVA rules as NONE of the
machines currently being sold meet the technical/testing requirements of
HAVA--but the election officials and most members of the public don't
realize this.)
In your section on Be The Media you could add a few more suggestions (hand
out flyers, phone a local radio station, write a letter to the editor of the
local paper).
It would be great to include a special section re: Disabilities/HAVA since
electronic systems are being "sold" with the false impression that they are
required under HAVA when recent rulings have explicitly state that
electronic machines are not necessary to meet the needs of HAVA. Mention how
the "good" cause of appealing to our desire to support voters with
disabilities to vote without assistance is being manipulated to bring in
systems that destroy election integrity for all voters. (And machine vendors
have given funds to some major disability groups to ensure their support.)
You could link to the VotersUnite.org section where they show specific
paper-based solutions that enable disabled voters to vote independently.
Mention in any case, no single system (paper, electronic, whatever) will be
suited for all kinds of disabilities. And some of the electronic systems
that claim to be HAVA-compliant have been rated poorly by disabled voters
(and besides none of the machines are HAVA compliant, anyways). Too many
election officials and media have bought into the mistaken concept that HAVA
requires them to purchase new equipment. Please counter this disinformation
strongly!
I think your into section ("Fire" etc.) would benefit by being shorter.
Best of luck and congratulations,
Catherine A.
We look
forward to hearing from you.
